Why do I need a UAE Will if I already have a Will in my home country?
UAE courts do not automatically recognise foreign Wills for locally-held assets. Without a registered UAE Will, Sharia law may govern how your UAE property and assets are distributed.
What happens to my mortgaged property if I pass away without a Will?
Without a Will, the property could be frozen pending court processes, and your family may face significant delays accessing or inheriting the property. A registered Will prevents this.
Can non-Muslims register a Will in the UAE?
Yes. The DIFC Wills Service Centre was specifically established to allow non-Muslims to register Wills that are enforced under civil law rather than Sharia principles.
How long is a UAE Will valid for?
A DIFC registered Will does not expire. However, you should update it if your circumstances change significantly — new assets, marriage, children or changes in beneficiary wishes.
Express your interest and our partner team will reach out to discuss your requirements within 24 hours.
